The Keller String Quartet is a scholarship ensemble in the Chamber Music Program at the Punahou School in Honolulu, Hawaii. The quartet is made possible by the generosity of sponsors Drs. Bruce and Cynthia Keller, and is coached by Hawaii Symphony violinist Dr. Helen Liu. The quartet members are all students of the Punahou Academy, and perform in the Punahou Symphony and Hawaii Youth Symphony. 16-year-old 1st violinist Erin Nishi began playing violin at age 3, and currently studies with Hawaii Symphony concertmaster Ignace Jang. She is a 2017 Morning Music Club scholarship winner and was concertmaster of Hawaii Youth Symphony Concert Orchestra. Leilani is also a lead teaching assistant for the Punahou Japanese language immersion program, and enjoys Tahitian dance. 16-year-old Sewon Park began studying viola in 7th grade with Punahou Symphony conductor Craig Young, and became principal violist of Hawaii Youth Symphony I three years later. She is also an editor of the school yearbook and competes on the varsity girls’ air riflery team. 16-year-old cellist Mira Hu began studying cello at age 7, currently with Hawaii Symphony cellist Nancy Masaki.
