Cooper Thorson (14 years old) will be in 9th grade at the Utah County Academy of Science this fall. His parents knew he had a special love for piano after Cooper would figure out music pieces on his own while playing on an old piano his parents purchased at an estate sale. He started piano lessons at the age of 7 years old with Jonathan Keith and he has been studying piano from Dr. Peery-Fox since he was 8 years old. Cooper loves to perform, and has played along side Utah Valley Symphony and Timpanogos Symphony, among other public performances. Cooper choose to enter this contest with Valse Romantique Waltz because he feels the music can be powerful, and make emotional connections.
Aside from his music, Cooper enjoys playing D&D with his friends, and loves the outdoors. He also is an avid reader.
