Micaela Chyu is 13 years old and has been playing the violin since the age of 6. She will be in the eighth grade at Ladue Middle School.
She is a part of the Webster Community Music School Prep chamber music program, and plays in the Metropolitan Orchestra of St. Louis. She made her orchestral debut with the Alton Symphony Orchestra as the 2018 Guild Award winner. She is currently learning from Joe Kaminsky, Erin Schreiber, and Almita Vamos. Micaela also likes to sing and play the ukelele, and enjoys art, reading, and spending time with her dogs.
