Sophie Nguyen, age 15, is a 9th grader at Iolani school. She started piano at the age of 5. She also plays violin and is with Iolani orchestra. Besides music, Sophie is active with Science Olympiad and Model United Nations. Jairus Rhoades is a 9th grader at Punahou school. He started piano at the age of 7 and plays cello with Punahou orchestra. He is active with many clubs at school as well as playing tennis. Both students study with Mrs. Joanna Zane Fan. Sophie and Jairus have won many competitions both locally and internationally. Recently, they won the MTNA Southwest division duet piano and competed in the national MTNA competition in Spokane, Washington.
