Mariana Schmitt
Mariana Schmitt is a 13 year-old bi-lingual pianist who lives in Bear, Delaware. She started studying piano at age five and has performed in numerous recitals at the University of Delaware through the Community Music School program. She now studies piano under Dr. Loretta Jankowski. Mariana recently won in two categories in a competition sponsored by the Piano Teachers Society of America and will therefore perform in their 2019 Spring Festival at Carnegie Hall. She also participated in the Delaware State Music Teachers Association 2019 Piano Festival and received a “superior plus” rating for her performance. She also won third prize in the 2019 Music of the Centuries GCC Series competition. She loves art in all of its expressions, and has performed in several theatrical productions as well as jazz, tap, and ballet dance.
