Garrett began to learn piano at age of 5. His first teacher was concert pianist Dr. Niv Haggai. Now he is studying with concert pianist Ms. Sujeeva Hapugalle. Garrett loves to play pieces by Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Rachmaninoff, and he is especially fond of improvising favorite melodies at the piano. In 2017, he participated in US open music competition, playing piano concerto No 11 in F major by Mozart and got 4th place. In 2019, he won third prize in US new start piano competition. In 2020, he won the first and third prize in US International Open Music Competition. Besides piano, he also plays alto saxophone at school band.
