Kate Lee

Kate Yunseo Lee is 6 years old. She was born in October, 2012. She is a first grade student at Saint Leo the Great Catholic School, Fairfax, VA.

She has been playing the piano and studying music since 2016 at the age of 4, under the direction of Dr. Anna Ouspenskaya. She has played various solo piano literature & concerto collaborations with accompanists from various composers & different styles. She has studied music theory & music composition and has been participating in numerous competitions and won top prizes. Kate had the honor of performing at Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall on June, 2019 as an American Protégé Judges’ Distinction Award (Plaque Trophies) Winner and a First Place Winner of the American Protégé International Concerto Competition 2019. Kate will perform in Winter Gala Concert at Zankel Hall in Carnegie Hall on December 20th as First Place Winner of American Protege International Competition of Romantic Era 2019. Kate won three First prizes for the young performers in The Music of Germany & Austria, The Music of Mediterranean Europe, and The Music of Northern Europe categories in The Music of Europe: Great Composers Competition 2019. Kate won Third prize in Year of Artist, Season 2018-19, Great Composers Competition. Also, Kate won Honorable Mention in YMIC (Young Musicians Inspiring Change) 2018 Metropolitan Music Festival in Piano solo category. She has devoted herself to study piano technique, musical expressiveness, music listening, memorization methods, and stage manners. She enjoys participating the music studio activities and watching various performances.

Apart from the piano, she enjoys fencing, swimming, reading, drawing and traveling.
