Nathaniel Su is a 13-year-old seventh grader from Massachusetts in USA. He has been playing piano since age 6 and currently is studying piano with Valerie Henkin . Over the last few years, Nathaniel has won prizes at international competitions, including Chopin International Competition in Hartford, ENKOR International Piano Competition, American Fine Arts Festival International Piano Competition. Nathaniel has also won top prize/award in state/regional level competitions. He was the Massachusetts state winner of the MTNA Junior Piano Competition in 2017 and a 1st place prize winner at MMTA piano competitions. He also received the Nancy Oliva Award from NEPTA in 2019. Nathaniel has performed solo piano in Carnegie Hall and Shalin Liu Performance Center, and frequently participated local community outreach programs. As a recipient of the MMTA Herbert H. Bowker Memorial Scholarship, Nathaniel attended Ithaca College Summer Piano Institute in 2018. Nathaniel currently is a NEC prep student and taking advanced piano seminar with A. Ramón Rivera. He is also taking music theory and ear trainings with a private teacher. Besides piano, Nathaniel loves to play Rubik's cube. He was the 1st place prize winner of Massachusetts You Can Do the Cube Competition (3x3 cube solo) in 2019 in the middle school division.
