Mary JS So, age 12, has been practicing and playing her violin for 3,933 consecutive days! In 2014, 2016 and 2018 she was selected to be in the Suzuki Association of the Americas Biennial Conference Youth Orchestra in Minneapolis, MN. As a home educated eighth grader at So South Academy, in Kansas City, Missouri, Ms. So enjoys playing classical guitar and competes in ATA Martial Arts tournaments as a Second Degree Black Belt. Mary's most memorable experience playing her violin was at Disney World on June 17, 2017, with her teacher Mr. Joseph Kaminsky, and the Kirkwood Academy of Music, located in Kirkwood, Missouri. Mary was recently accepted as a member of the Metropolitan Orchestra of Saint Louis ""Share a Stand Program"" and played her first concert with them on February 10, 2019. Mary was a second place winner for GCCS Best Vivaldi performance and won second place in the GCCS Composers of the 20th Century competition.
