Kirk Kang is in a second grader from San Jose, CA. He started playing piano at the age of 4 under the instruction of Shen Ling Chuang. He had his first recital at the age of 5 and started competing shortly afterward. He was awarded 1st place in Silicon Valley Secondary “Encore” competition, prep level in 2016, and 3rd prize in United States Open Music Competition (USOMC) Baroque composers, junior level in 2018. Most recently he placed 2nd in Korean American Music Supporter’s Association (KAMSA) competition at the junior level. Besides playing piano, Kirk enjoys playing basketball, reading, drawing and hanging out with his friends and family.
