Jeffrey Zhao is a 5th grader in Somerset Elementary School, Bellevue, WA USA. Jeffrey started learning piano when he was 5 years old. He has won 18 awards in piano competitions so far, including:
April 2018, 1st place, 4th grade, EMTA (Eastside Music Teacher Association) Scholarship Competition
May 2018, Gold medalist, ages 9-10, SIPF (Seattle International Piano Festival) Virtuoso Festival
April 2017, 1st place, 4th grade and under, PAFE (Performing Arts Festival of the Eastside) concerto division
October 2018, Silver medalist, ages 10-13, SIPF (Seattle International Piano Festival) Bach Festival
February 2019, Silver medalist, ages 10-11, Chopin Northwest Festival
Jeffrey likes to ski, and once he even performed piano in the ski lodge at Mt. Baker ski resort during his lunch break. Jeffrey is also very good at math. As a fifth grader, his score in the AMC8 math competition placed him in the top 1% of all contestants participating.
