Devin Chang


Devin Chang, 16, plays piano, organ, and viola as well as composing and improvising music. Since 2012, Devin has studied piano with Dr. Natsuki Fukasawa. As a current member of the Young Composers Guild in the Music Teachers' Association of California, Devin has attended the Summer Music West composition program at San Francisco Conservatory of Music four times since 2012. Devin has played the Warsaw Concerto with the Central Valley Youth Symphony and Grieg Piano Concerto (1st movement) with the Sacramento Youth Symphony as winners of their concerto competitions. He has won four awards for performing in the MTAC Improvisation Honors Recital and two awards for performing his own compositions in the Sacramento State University's Festival of New American Music. Devin’s cadenza for Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 21 (1st movement) was performed at the US Open Music Competition. Devin was selected to play Beethoven Choral Fantasy as soloist with orchestra and choir. 

    Devin enjoys playing music for seniors and veterans in the volunteer group “Lifting Spirits with Music.” He also studied organ with Dr. Ryan Enright, as a member of the American Guild of Organists.
