Alexandra Fordsman


Alexandra Fordsman is a sophomore at Wilton High School in Connecticut. She started learning piano when she was 5 years old. She has participated in the Young Musicians Festival in Fairfield, CT for the past 5 years earning a perfect score each time. In March of 2018 she competed for the first time in the Little Mozart’s Competition in NYC. She won Second Place and performed at Carnegie Hall “Sentimental Waltz” by J. Tchaikovsky. In November 2018 she participated in the Crescendo International Music Competition and won First Place performing for a second time at Carnegie Hall this past January. She was invited to participate in the Crescendo International Student Exchange Program this past summer of 2019 that took place in Vienna and Salzburg, Austria. In March of 2019 she won Third Place for Best Chopin Performance in the Great Composers Competition Series performing Nocturne Op.32, No.2 by Frédéric Chopin. In April of 2019 she won Third Place for The Music of Eastern Europe in the Great Composers Competition Series. Also in April of 2019 she was one of the five finalist in the Steinway Piano Competition in Connecticut and performed at Steinway Hall in New York City. In June of 2019 she won Second Place for The Rising Talents of Americas in the Great Composers Competition Series. In August of 2019 she won Second Place for Best Debussy Performance performing Arabesque No. 2 by Claude Debussy in the Great Composers Competition Series. In September of 2019 she won Third Place for “Artist of the Year” for the season of 2018/2019 in the Great Composers Competition Series.

Alexandra also loves to read and has been dancing ballet since she was 3 years old.
