My name is Shannon Zhang. I am 11 years old, and I live in California. I am in 6th grade at Miller Middle School. I began learning piano when I was 5 and a half years old. I think that piano is very hard, but the results can be rewarding, especially if you receive an award or accomplish a resplendent piece. However, you are required to conquer many problems before tasting success. One such problem that I faced is balancing piano practice and other extracurricular activities. Sometimes, I find myself in a situation where I don’t have enough time to do a certain activity. What made the problem even worse was discovered when I spent a decent amount of time practicing, but I realized that my progress was still rather slow. So, the new revised strategy is to work efficiently. You can work efficiently by listening carefully to your practice, and fixing problems immediately so they don’t worsen. The most important part is to focus. Working efficiently, instead of wasting time, will decrease the time necessary to gain an acceptable result, and at the same time, increase my progress. That way, I can balance practice and activities easily. Another way to solve this problem is to create a rotating schedule. Planning out the week beforehand can support balance between extracurricular activities and piano practice.
