Ryan Thomas Mulrenan, 16-years-old, from Overland Park, KS, began playing the piano at age 7 after establishing his musical foundation in Kindermusik. Ryan has been studying piano with Ying-Yu Emily Yeh since 2013. Just two months after studying with her, Ryan competed in the Mid-America Music Association Music Festival and won first place in his division in 2013. In 2014, Ryan competed in the Mid-America Music Association Music Festival competition and was selected for a master composer’s workshop by Martin Cuellar. Ryan received Honorable Mention at the Kansas State Honors Competition
in both piano solo and duet competitions in 2014 and in the solo division in 2015. Ryan also received highest honors in the Kansas City Music Teachers Association Fall Festival in 2013, 2014 and 2015. Ryan was a National Winner of Piano Guild Audition and awarded the Founder’s Plaque in 2014 and 2015. Ryan is also a violinist. He sang with the nationally acclaimed Allegro Choirs of Kansas City. Ryan performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City in November 2015 after receiving an honorable mention in the American Protégé International Piano and Strings Competition. Ryan most recently placed first in his division at the Mid-America Music Association Music Festival and second in his division at the Kansas State competition.
