Justin Wahby
Justin Wahby, age 15, is a 10th Grader at Franklin High School in Elk Grove. Justin has been playing piano for 10 years and is currently under the guidance of Dr. Natsuki Fukasawa and Professor John McCarthy. He is a student of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music Pre-College program. Justin has participated in many music festivals and won top prizes at events such as the New Star Piano Competition, the Orfeo International Competition, LA Liszt Piano Competition, the Crescendo International Piano Competition, the US Open piano competition, USIMC, Auburn Young Artist Competition, Alexander and Buono International competition, and the Ghiglieri piano competition. Justin has been playing clarinet for the past 7 years and is currently studying with Professor Sandra McPherson. He has also been a member of Sacramento Youth Symphony since 2013. An active chamber music player, Justin has participated in various chamber music events including a first place appearance at the MTAC VOCE competition (Sacramento Branch) and at the 2017 Chamber Music Competition sponsored by the Sacramento Chamber Music Society. He also has performed at senior residences, community centers and Chinese cultural events in Sacramento. Besides music, Justin enjoys playing sports such as tennis and soccer. He’s also the president of Franklin High School’s Music Society.
