Emma Tio, age 14, is a 9th grader in the piano department at Los Angeles County High School of Arts in Los Angeles, CA in the U.S.A. She is a student of Nobuyo Nishizaka in Pasadena, CA and she won several piano competitions including the American Protégé International Competition, Great Composers Competition Best Mozart Performance, MTCA San Fernando East Valley Branch Contemporary Festival, Satori Young Pianist Competition, Southern California Junior Bach Complete Work Audition, Southwest Youth Music Festival, and Two Crane International Festival, California Association of Professional Music Teachers Contemporary competition, etc. She attended Jacobs School of Music Summer Piano Academy in 2019 and selected as honor for her duet performance. She is also a trio member of Los Angeles Junior Chamber Music. Her friends and she founded an organization, Bonding Thru Beats, which is a non-profit organization dedicated to spreading music awareness throughout the community, using various educational and performance programs. She also volunteers at “Education Through Music” which partners with inner-city schools to provide music as a core subject for students, and utilize music education to improve academic achievement, motivation for school and self-confidence.
