Catherine Cai is a student of Mary Institute Country Day School in St Louis, MO. Catherine received first place of Group I in Steinway & Son Piano Competition 2018 St. Louis and was state runner-up of Grader 4B in 2018 MMTA. She also won second place in the 2018 Carmel Klavier International Competition in the Piano Solo Division – Elementary B1, and a special reward of performing in Royal Albert Hall in London. She also received second place in the 2018 Indianapolis Matinee Musicale Junior Section Scholarship. In 2017, she won first place in the Carmel Klavier International Piano Competition in the Piano Solo Division –Elementary A, first place in the Contemporary Composers Division – Elementary A2, and received the Eugenie Rocherolle Awards. “ I love all the poise and feeling…even for a boogie piece!...and her fine technique” (from Eugenie Rocherolle) She also received third place in the 2017 Hoosier Auditions District C– Elementary, IN.
Besides piano, Catherine’s favorite activities are art, math and swimming.
