Ana Isabella Espana


Ana Isabella España, age 12, was born and raised in New York City. She began her violin studies at the age of 4 at Opus 118's Harlem School of Music with Lynelle K. Smith. She is currently in the 7th grade at the Special Music School at Kaufman Music Center, a school for musically gifted children. Isabella is a classically trained violinist who has played at some of New York’s most acclaimed locations, including Carnegie Hall, Merkin Concert Hall, Symphony Space, and the American Academy of Arts and Letters. Isabella is currently a member of Face the Music’s contemporary Mikka String Quartet coached by Hajnal Pivnick and the Lucy Moses School’s classical Piano Trio coached by Jacob Ashworth. In 2019, her piano trio had the honor of performing at the prestigious Henry Schneider Violin Virtuoso Concert at Merkin Concert Hall. In 2017, Isabella was selected to perform at the Kaufman Music Center Gala at Guastavino’s, New York City, in a string ensemble featuring Joshua Bell. Isabella has also been a featured guest soloist at Opus 118’s Harlem School of Music end of year concert at the Academy of Arts and Letters, and most recently, the Little Sisters of the Assumption Gala at Tribeca 360 in New York City. Isabella is also a piano student of Yvonne Lau and has performed at Steinway Hall in New York City. In her spare time, Isabella enjoys reading, skiing, surfing, and keeping up with the Los Angeles Dodgers highlights.
