Micah Miller

Micah Miller, violinist/pianist/composer has been an aspiring musician since he was four years old. Micah has studied violin with Dr. Vincent Phelan and Mrs. Elizabeth Council-Phelan in the Corryville Suzuki Project for 11 years, and has been a member of the advanced strings program “Teen Strings Ensemble” for 4 years. In 2016 he won second prize in the Mary and Clyde Martin Scholarship for Strings sponsored by the Middletown Symphony.

Micah actively performs in several areas around Cincinnati and the Tri-state area. This year, as part of the Teen Strings Ensemble, he performed at: Chamberpalooza at the Cincinnati Art Museum, Kentucky State University in Frankfort, The Speed Art Museum in Louisville, The Appalachian Festival 2018 at Coney Island (Cincinnati), Clifton Plaza in Cincinnati, and St. Walburg Monastery in Villa Hills. He also plays at his church three days a week for their services. Occasionally you might see him ""busking"" at a local business, or performing at his mother’s home daycare center.

Micah enjoys all aspects of music. In his home practice and the Teen Strings Ensemble he has been exposed to many different musical styles, including Appalachian fiddle, bluegrass, blues, and pop music from the ‘40’s - ‘70’s. At church Micah plays contemporary christian, gospel and improvisational worship music.

In addition to violin, Micah has studied piano under Leah Kay Hogg and Tim Collins. In 2016 he tied for first place in the Marilyn and Stephen Ifcic Scholarship for Piano sponsored by the Middletown Symphony. He is also an amateur composer with works including solo piano/violin, small ensembles, symphony orchestra, and contemporary worship. His compositions can be found on YouTube, SoundCloud, and MuseScore (under mnmwert). Micah's goal in life is to bring glory to God through music and joy to the people around him.
