Joydeep Mukherjee has been playing the violin for the past 8 years. He is currently 16 years old and attends William G. Enloe High School in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Joydeep performs in a chamber music group and several orchestras, including his high school orchestra, Philharmonic Association Triangle Youth Philharmonic, NC Eastern Regional Orchestra, and the NC Honors Orchestra. In addition, he has won several solo competitions. Last year, he won the North Carolina Federation of Music Clubs Scholarship district and state competitions, and performed in the state level recital. For the past three years, Joydeep has won first place in the Durham Music Teachers Association competition.
Joydeep also uses his talents to volunteer at senior living homes, participate in fundraisers for his orchestra, and perform at community events, such as the Town of Cary Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony.
