Melodey Soong
Seventeen-year-old Melodey Soong began her music studies at the age of four. She studied piano under the tutelage of Professor Daniel Pollack and Dr. Vladimir Khomyakov of USC Thornton School of Music, and currently with Professor Amanda Kirkpatrick of Washington University in St. Louis. Melodey has won national and international piano competitions such as American Protege International Piano and String Competition, California Association of Professional Music Teacher for Contemporary Music Festival, San Jose International Piano Competition, Gold medal winner of Seattle International Piano Competition and many others. She has performed in many venues in the United States and internationally, such as the legendary Isaac Stern Auditorium Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall, Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Zipper Concert Hall in Los Angeles, and Sala dei Notari in Perugia, Italy. Melodey was selected twice as one of the winners for Young Musicians Foundation Scholarship Awards. Melodey is currently a freshman at Washington University in St. Louis. Besides her love of music, she enjoys reading, writing, and teaching piano to children.
