Honor Hickman, a flutist residing in Massachusetts, will be graduating from Belmont High School in June. She started playing flute at the age of 12 and never wanted to stop. Since 2015, she has been studying under Dr. Meghan Jacoby at Powers Music School in Belmont. While she enjoys playing in her school wind ensemble, she has also performed in New England Conservatory Prep’s Junior Repertory Orchestra, Senior Massachusetts Youth Wind Ensemble and the Honors Wind Quintet. She has also performed at MMEA senior district festival, MMEA All State Festival and participated in the Young Artists Wind Ensemble at Boston University Tanglewood Institute. She loves exploring new music and styles with the flute as well as finding many opportunities as possible to play with others. When she isn’t playing flute, she enjoys composing music, playing jazz saxophone, baking and being with friends. She will be continuing her musical studies at New England Conservatory this Fall.
