Henry Yao, a 7th grader from California, began piano study at the age of six. He has participated in regional, national and international piano competitions. He was awarded multiple 1st and 2nd places in US Open Music Competition every year from 2015 to 2018, received Outstanding Gold Medalist Awards with scholarships at winners’ concerts in 2017 and 2018. Henry won 2nd place at 2018 American Protégé International Competition for Romantic Music, 1st place at 2018 KAMSA Music Competition, and 1st place at Elite International Music Competition 2018-19 season, as well as 1st place at 2018 American Fine Arts Festival. He also earned a number of Convention Honors from California Music Teachers Association. Henry has been invited to perform at Carnegie Hall multiple times, and has been active in performing at community events and senior homes to bring music to local community.
