Christian Chae
Christian Chae (15 years old) began his musical journey with piano when he was 8 years old. Then, he found his deep passion in viola when he turned 10 years old. He is currently a sophomore at California School of the Arts, studying viola in Instrumental Music in California, U.S.A. He is a member of Colburn Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Maxim Eshkenazy. In the past, he has performed with trio, quartet and octet under the direction of Andrea Byers, Aimee Kreston, Sharon Harman and Andrew Cook. Also, he has been a member of Colburn Youth Orchestra, and Pasadena Youth Symphony Orchestra. He currently holds principal violist position in Philharmonic and Chamber group in California School of the Arts. He has competed various string competitions and won various prizes. He also enjoys teaching beginning to intermediate students and playing for sick patients nearby hospitals. He believes music brings a tremendous healing to the people. Near future, he wishes to continue playing viola as a chamber musician with a finance management career when he graduates from the college.
