Vivian Zhu
Vivian Zhu is a 7th grade student of Daniel Wright Junior High School in Lincolnshire, IL. She began learning piano when she was six years old. Currently she enhances her piano skills and techniques under the tutoring of Sueanne Metz. Her most recent achievements in 2018 include the first place winner in Steinway Piano Competition in Wisconsin, the 2nd place winner in Carmel Klavier International Competition, and the 3rd place winner in Roberta Savler Contest. In 2016, she played at Carnegie Hall for American Protégé Winners’ Concert in New York, and won the prizes in CAMTA Roberta Savler Contest and NSMTA contest. In 2014 she won the 1st place from NSMTA Award Competition, and the 1st prize from Granquist Music Competition at Geneva IL in 2013. To her, music is the ability of transcribing feelings into melodies that connects everyone together; the audience, the judge, and the performer.
