Roland Kahn, 17 years old, of Montgomery County, Maryland, began studying the cello at age 6, currently studying with Amy Frost Baumgarten. He is a senior at Bethesda Chevy Chase High School. In addition to playing in the Bethesda Chevy Chase High School Orchestra, Maryland Classic Youth Orchestra and the Bellavoce Trio, Roland has been an active participant and winner of numerous festivals and competitions. Roland has attended the Kinhaven Music Festival, Brevard Music Center, and Eastern Music Festival, as well as toured Italy with MCYO. Outside of playing cello, Roland enjoys guitar and piano, and also composes in his spare time. Besides music, Roland is an active tennis and basketball player, and hopes to attend college in California.
