Ivory Tang is currently a Senior at Palo Alto High School in California, United States. She has started studying piano at the age of 5. She was the winner of the American Fine Arts Festival in 2014 and the winner of the American Protege International Romantic Music Competition in 2015. As winners of both competitions, she was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall in June, 2014 and March, 2016. In 2017 she won the first place at the United States Open Music Competition in Oakland, California. In March, 2018 she organized and performed in a benefit concert that helped fund a pilot music program in East Palo Alto’s Phoenix Academy school and is currently organizing the next benefit concert. In 2018 she also won third place in the Best Liszt performance of Global Great Composers Competition. In 2019 she got the third place in US Open Music Competition showcase piano solo senior group.
Besides playing piano, Ivory is also an enthusiastic soccer player who competed in the National Premier League and also played for her high school varsity team. Her team won the Santa Clara valley athletic league’s division championship in the past season, and she was selected by the league coaches as a First Team All League Player. She is also part of her school’s varsity track team. Ivory loves science and entrepreneurship. She is a member of her school’s Science Olympiad team and competes at States every year. She also founded her high school’s DECA club and led the team to compete at the State convention and to qualify for the Nationals.
