Ilya Rice
13-year-old, Ilya Rice, is a 7th grade student at Ladue Middle School in St. Louis, Missouri and has studied piano under the tutelage of Zena Ilyashov for seven years.
Ilya is a multi-year winner (6 years) of the Missouri Music Teachers State Piano Competition for his respective grade levels. In April of 2018, Ilya took first place in Division I of the St. Louis Area Music Teachers Association Young Artist Competition. Ilya also received an Honorable Mention in Steinway’s Midwest Region Junior Plano Competition held this summer.
In October of this year Ilya participated in a master class presented by Steinway Artist and internationally acclaimed pianist, Steven Spooner. In November, had a master class from the renowned Professor of Piano at the Eastman School of Music, Natalya Antonova.
Ilya also plays tennis competitively, and with his team this summer, advanced to the multi-state sectionals of the U.S.T.A Team Tennis National Competition. In addition, he plays baseball, is an avid skier, and enjoys spending time with friends and family.
