Garrett Blosen (cello)
Garrett Blosen, age 16, has enjoyed playing musical instruments especially cello, piano, and percussion. Garrett started entering music competitions both piano and cello when he was 13 years old. He currently studies cello with Jonathan Koh and has won multiple awards, including the San Francisco Youth Talent Competition, American Fine Arts Festival, Golden Key International Competition, US Open Music Competition, MTAC VOCE, Heritage Festival, and the Junior Bach Festival. He has performed at Carnegie Hall and been invited to Lincoln Center. He has enjoyed sharing his music with others including performing at local senior homes since he was in middle school. He has been studying chamber music at the California Music Preparatory Academy and is now the outreach program coordinator working to introduce music to underprivileged children by harnessing the talents of the chamber groups. Besides music, he enjoys competitive sailing and FRC robotics including competing in world championships for both activities.
