Daphne Wen
Daphne Wen is a 5th grade student in Stone Mill Elementary School. She started playing violin at the age of 4, currently she is studying violin with Mrs. Holly Hamilton. Since she was 7, she has won various string competitions such as 2nd place in WPAS , 3rd in YMIC, Honorable Mention in American Protege, 1st place in Concert Artists International Competition (CAI) Virtuoso and and 1st in CAI Maestro Competition. She performed twice in Carnegie Hall in NYC, and once in Strathmore Mansion. Daphne was selected to participate HeifetzPEG summer program in 2018.
Daphne participated in various community services such Food and Friends Benefit concert in Washington DC, a few times at Village at Rockville, with teacher studio students, Chinese school orchestra, or Three Muses Trio performing in various community events.
Daphne loves to read fantasy stories, swims year round with RMSC club, likes to write stories, singing and cooking. She also taught herself playing piano, guitar, and trombone. She wanted to be a violinist, a vet or an author in various times.
