Amanda Lau is a 7th grader at Valley Christian Junior High School in San Jose, California. She started learning piano at the age of 8, and currently studies with Ms. Dorothy Su. Amanda has won several awards including a a second place in the Great Composers International Competition and a third place in the United States Open Music Competition (USOMC) Showcase Solo. She was also selected to perform in the 2018 Junior Bach Festival and participated in the MTAC Certificate of Merit Branch Honor recital. Amanda is a pianist in the Advanced Strings Chamber Group at Valley Christian.
Besides music, Amanda enjoys playing table tennis and has won a few tournaments as well. Other interests include reading, drawing, writing stories, photography, creating projects for her International Space Station class, and making fun polls and quizzes.
