Rachel Lee (piano)

Rachel Lee is 13 years old and lives in Fremont, California.  She is an eighth grader at William Hopkins Junior High School.  Since the age of four, Rachel has been taking piano lessons with her teacher, Ms. Yuko Yoshida, at Fremont Mission Music Institute.  Ever since she could play basic songs, Rachel has been participating in her music school’s recitals. Additionally, she has been taking part in the Certificate of Merit program for many years and achieved CM Level-7 in 2020.  Rachel was invited to MTAC Conventions twice and won multiple Branch Honors awards.  Moreover, in 2019, the National PTA Arts Reflections Program awarded her with two Awards of Excellence for piano composition.

Besides playing the piano, Rachel has found other ways to express herself through music.  She has been involved in youth musical theatre for five years and has recently joined a well-known youth choir as well.  Aside from those, she can be found making crafts, playing her ukulele, or listening to music in her free time.

In both 2014 and 2018, she represented her school in the district’s annual talent shows, becoming the first ever performer to win the district’s prestigious grand championship twice. From 2016-2018, she competed at the California Youth Focus Music Competition and the NATS Competition, winning both a first place award and a grand champion award.  Rachel loves music in general and hopes to continue her musical journey into the future.
