Joshua Zhi


Joshua Zhi started to learn piano with cousin Amy Wang and Grandmother Lei when he was two years and eight months old. It was Amy who discovered Joshua already possessed with perfect pitch at that tender age and because of this discovery Joshua was set onto the course of wonderful music journey. When he was about 3 and half years old, Joshua was accepted by the Chairman of the keyboard section from the Conservatorium of music of Sydney , Dr Paul Rickard-Ford , as his youngest student.

Joshua is now 12 years old. He has won many prizes in Sydney local Eisteddfods and International competitions. In 2014, Joshua won the 2nd prize in International young pianist competition in 10 years old and under group in Belgium. In 2015, he has won a special prize in St Petersburg "A Step towards mastery international young pianist competition" in 11 years old and under section. He also won a 2nd prize in Piano talents international competition, in Milan, Italy. In 2017, Joshua again won the special Jury's award in St Petersburg's "A Step towards mastery international young pianist competition"" in 11 years old and under section. Joshua has also been in the Rising star program of Sydney Conservatorium of Music since 2014. He is one of the scholarship receiving students.

In 2016, Joshua performed in Sydney International Piano competition as a showcase of Australian next generation pianists.
In December,2017 , Joshua Zhi was one of the semifinalists in Moscow Nutcracker international TV music contest.
2018, Joshua Zhi claimed top honours in prestigious Pollard Memorial Instrumental Award in Sydney Australia.

Joshua won various online international piano competition such as the first prize of the masters of piano sonata.

In January 2019, Joshua won the Great award of Young piano artist of First Vienna international music competition and he was invited to perform in the Vienna Musikrevein.
In February 2019, Joshua Zhi was selected to participate in lll City of Vigo international piano competition out of over 400 applicants from all over the world.
Joshua loves to watch and play piano. His dream is to become a concert pianist and share his music to all the people over the world.
