The peaceful and serene sound of the oboe piqued her interest and drew her to the instrument. As a former clarinetist and pianist, she explored many facets of modern and classical music. Emily Jang received numerous awards including the gold medal of National Young Maestro Competition, the first prize in the International Grande Music Competition, and was awarded as a first place winner of the American Protégé. She was also invited to perform at Carnegie Hall.
