Catherine Awad
Catherine Awad discovered her passion for music at age eleven when she first started playing clarinet. In high school, she was ranked in the Michigan Youth Arts Festival Honors Band 2015, 2016, and 2017. Her junior year of high school, she was selected in the Michigan All State Band. Catherine was runner up in the Kalamazoo Concert Band Concerto Competition and won the Lake Michigan Youth Orchestra Concerto Competition. She formerly studied under Dr. Arthur Campbell, Tianna Doe, and Professor Chris French. Catherine currently studies with Dr. Lea Steffens at the Chapman University Hall-Musco Conservatory of Music. Catherine is the principal clarinetist in the Chapman Wind Symphony and is a part of the Chapman Orchestra, New Music Ensemble, Woodwind Quintet, and Clarinet Ensemble. She is excited to be continuing her musical journey as a double major in Clarinet Performance and Music Education.
