Allison Yun
Pianist Allison Yun made her Carnegie Hall debut as a winner of the American Protégé International Music Competition in the Spring of 2018. Among her countless honors, she performed as a concerto soloist with Beach Cities Orchestra in 2019 after winning the Artist of the Future concerto competition. Internationally, she has earned top prizes in the Finland International Piano Competition, the Enkor International Music Competition, the James Ramos International Video competition and the Glory international Music competition all during 2019. She has also earned multiple honors in the Great Composers series including first prize winner of the Great Composers International Competition 2020 for piano sonata and won second prize for their 2018 Artist of the Year Award. She received first prize in the CAMPT contemporary music competition in 2020 and is a finalist for the California state competition. Additionally, she earned state honors in the California Certificate of Merit ultimate Panel program this year and is a state finalist for their prestigious Panel competition for the state. She has been invited back to Carnegie Hall as a 1st place winner of the American Protege International Concerto Competition later this calendar year. Other performance venues include Colburn School's Zipper Hall as a result of winning first prize at the Lansum International Music Competition and NYU Black Box theater. She has won 1st place in the MTAC scholarship competition as well as multiple prizes at the Southwestern Youth Music Festival and was both the branch and regional winner of the Southern California Junior Bach Festival. This summer, she will participate in Curtis Institute’s highly selective Young Artist Summer Program.
Allison began the piano at the age of six and currently studies with Esther Keel. She is in tenth grade at Chadwick School where she also sings alto in the Jubilee Singers group. Also passionate about classical ballet, she has studied dance since the age of three and is currently part of the Chadwick Dance Company. In addition to the arts, she is active as a student leader and advocate for student wellness and diversity on campus.
