Seyon Kim
Seyon Kim, 16, is a sophomore at Archbishop Mitty High School. She started playing the violin in 2nd grade and currently studies with Pat Burnham. She participates in her school orchestra as concertmaster and is a violinist in the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra. As the second violin principal of the Senior Symphony of the El Camino Youth Symphony, Seyon was honored to play in several symphony halls in Europe during their summer concert tour in 2017.
She participated in the Korean-American Music Supporters’ Association Youth Orchestra for the past 2 years as well as the California All State Honor Orchestra. She received numerous awards and recognitions in music competitions including the Korea Times Competition and Music Teachers Association California in Santa Clara Branch. She is also invited to perform at Carnegie Hall as a winner of both the American Fine Arts Festival Competition and the American Protege Competition. She also enjoys serving the community with her music, such as serving as a violinist during mass at Holy Korean Martyrs Catholic Church and at the Diocese of San Jose and playing music at senior homes with her friends as a member of Sky Ensemble, a non-profit organization. In her free time, Seyon enjoys reading and playing sports.
