Kaya Smith


Kaya Smith is 10 years old, lives in Hawaii and has been studying piano since age six. During this time, Kaya began successfully performing and competing in various competitions and recitals. It was these events that enabled her passion and confidence to grow, which is reflected by her multiple awards. These honors include; The American Protégé International Piano and Strings Competition 2nd Prize with Winners Performance invite to Carnegie Hall, The Golden Classical Music Competition 2nd Place group II with invite to winners recital at Carnegie Hall, The HMTA Junior Artist Piano Competition Level II “Judges Honorable Mention”, GLORY Int’l Piano competition 2nd Prize, Great Composers Competition Music of 19th Century, Best Grieg Performance, Best Mozart performance, Master Of Sonata, Artist of the Year, The IMKA Classical Music Competition 1st Prize.  Additionally, Kaya finds inspiration from the blind pianist Nobuyuki Tsujii, which motivated her to play the piano blindfolded at the Iolani School Talent Show. However, overall Kaya is just a typical 10-year-old, who loves music, goofing around with friends, and going to the beach with her family.
