Kaya Smith

Kaya Smith is 10 years old, lives in Hawaii and has been studying piano since age six. During this time, Kaya began successfully performing and competing in various competitions and recitals. It was these events that enabled her passion and confidence to grow, which is reflected by her multiple awards. These honors include; The Golden Classical Music Competition 2nd Place group II with invite to Carnegie Hall, Great Composers Music of 19th Century Best Grieg Performance, Best Mozart, and Artist of the Yea, The IMKA Classical Music Competition 1st Prize group II, The HMTA Junior Artist Piano Competition Judges Honorable Mention level II and The American Protégé 2nd Prize with invite to Carnegie Hall. Additionally, Kaya finds inspiration from the blind Japanese pianist Nobuyuki Tsujii, which motivated her to perform blindfolded at the Iolani School Talent Show. However, overall Kaya is just a typical 10-year-old, who loves music, goofing around with friends, and going to the beach with her family.
