Robin Sung Joon Park


Robin Park has recently completed a Bachelor of Music Performance on Trumpet at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music with Bruce Hellmers. He achieved his A Mus A (Associate Diploma in Music) in 2015 and L Mus A (Licentiate Diploma) in 2016. He has been recently accepted into a Masters Degree in Classical Trumpet to Manhattan School of Music and Bern University of the Arts on a Scholarship.

In 2018, Robin was selected as a finalist to compete at the International Trumpet Guild Solo Competition during the International Trumpet Guild’s Annual Conference at San Antonio, Texas, USA, on full scholarship. He was also the principal Trumpet player of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music Wind Symphony during their Spain tour in July 2018. 

Most recently, Robin was awarded the William and Marie Souter Award, a scholarship given to an outstanding musician based on his impressive academic merit and performance standards whilst undertaking studies at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. He was also awarded a scholarship for an Outstanding Brass Player in recognition of outstanding achievement at the Sydney Conservatorium Association, 2018. 

Robin has also performed as a soloist in Carnegie Hall, NYC, and at the Parco della Musica in Rome as the recipient of the First Prize in the Golden Classical Music Competitions. 

Among numerable awards and prizes he has won, some notable achievements include being awarded the Outstanding Instrumental Finalist and subsequent invitation to perform at the Ryde District Music Club Award Finals, Fine Music 102.5 FM Radio Young Virtuoso Finalist and radio broadcast in July 2016. Robin has also achieved many First places and championship titles. As a winner on two consecutive years in 2017 and 2018, He will be published in the Ryde Eisteddfod’s 30 Amazing Years. He was also awarded the Senior Wind Scholarship sponsored by Bluescope at the open age championship held at Wollongong in 2017. 

Robin was selected to play with the prestigious Australian Youth Orchestra’s Seasons and was also the Principal Trumpet of the Alexander Orchestra during the Australian Youth Orchestra’s National Music Camp. He has played in Sydney Town Hall, Queensland Performing Arts Centre and the Adelaide Conservatorium with AYO. Some of the repertoire include Brahms 2nd Symphony, Britten’s Simphonia Da Requiem and Rachmaninoff’s Symphonic Dances. 

In addition, he also played with the SBS Youth Orchestra, Seoul National University Philharmonic Orchestra, Seoul National University Wind Ensemble, the Sydney Symphony Orchestra performing Mendelssohn’s Elijah at the Sydney Opera House, Sydney International Brass Festival as well as the Conservatorium Wind Symphony, the Symphony Orchestra, the Modern Music Ensemble and the Opera Orchestra.

Robin was given a full scholarship by the Sydney Conservatorium of Music for a Masterclass in Berlin with Sergei Nakariakov, where he performed in a public concert with a chamber ensemble and the orchestra.

Robin was the Principal Trumpet of the Brass Ensemble on the Great Southern Tour, July 2018, with the pianist David Miller AM.
