Mikołaj Adamczak

He was born on June 12th, 2001 in Warsaw to a family with musical traditions.

He started my artistic education at the age of 5. His first teacher was Marta Nowaczyk - Łapińska in B. Rutkowski Music School in Krakow. At the age of 6, he performed for the first time at the scientific session of the Academy of Music in Krakow called "Days of Bohuslav Martinu", and on this occasion, he met prof. Witold Hermann for the first time. In the years 2014-2016, he worked under the guidance of prof. dr hab. Zdzisław Łapiński (Rector and Head of the Department of Cello and Double Bass at the Music Academy in Krakow). He also had the honor to work in master classes with prof. dr hab. Tomasz Strahl and dr. hab. Dominik Połoński. He took part in numerous competitions and represented the school in many concert events both solo as well as chamber and orchestral ones.

He is a scholarship holder of the Krakow Club, the National Children's Fund, "Yes Krakow" Foundation and he was awarded twice by the President of the City of Krakow for special achievements in national and international competitions.

In May 2017, he passed the entry exam with a distinctive score and became
a student of F. Chopin Secondary Music School in Krakow, under the tutelage of dr hab. Barbara Łypik - Sobaniec.

He has been working on my instrumental skills on numerous master courses. Particularly important was the meeting at the European Cultural Center in Lusławice with the legend of the Polish cello school - prof. Kazimierz Michalik. This meeting changed completely his way of looking at performance issues. Taking part in numerous master classes, he also worked with prof. dr.hab. Tomasz Strahl, dr. hab. Marcin Zdunik, dr. hab. Rafał Kwiatkowski, dr Tomasz Lisiecki, dr hab. Bartosz Koziak, dr Magdalena Bojanowicz.

Third prize at the National Cello and Double Bass Tournament - Warsaw 2014

First Prize - The North International Music Competition - Stockholm, Sweden 2019
This year 2018/2019 he obtained a Scholarship of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage for artistic achievements.
In addition to working on a solo repertoire, he is constantly expanding his chamber music repertoire under the tutelage of dr hab Milena Kędra. As part of chamber music activity, he works with a piano trio MK3 and two string quartets.
Awards won with the MK3 piano trio 2018/2019 season :
the Golden Ensemble award - at the 11th International Competition of Cameral Ensembles in Rzeszów, Poland
Second Prize at II International Chamber Music Competiton „Musica Brillante” Vilnus, Lithuania
Second Prize at Encor International Chamber Music Competition
First prize and a special award for outstanding performance and cooperation of the musicians of the chamber ensemble obtained at the National Competition of Chamber Music Ensembles "Around Debussy" in Krakow. An additional prize is an invitation to the festival "Young Artists in Krakow"
First prize at the 4th National Autumn Chamber Music Meetings in Żywiec, Poland
Grand Prix - XX International Competition of Chamber Ensembles in Jawor, and a special prize - invitation to the concert in Bremmen.
First Prize and special prize - II International Piano Music Competition „Talents for Europe” in Kubin Dolny , Slovakia
He also won prize with string quartet -
First prize and Mikulas Zemskal Prize -XXIII International String Competition in Dolny Kubin, Slovakia
He conduct intense concert activities - this year he represented school in concerts in Poland, Slovenia, France, Germany and Italy - performing as a soloist with an orchestra and as part of MK3 piano trio. Mikołaj Theodor Adamczak is represented by the Małopolska Manufaktura Sztuki Association.
