Mayuko Nagata has just turned 18 years old and about to start her college at Keio University in Japan after graduating from Palos Verdes Peninsula High in Los Angeles, California in January. Mayuko started taking piano lesson at the age of 8 in Yamaha Music School in Tokyo. She has been taking lesson from Herbert Waltl at Hyperium Conservatory since she moved to California in her high school freshman year. In February 2018, Mayuko won first prize in her age category at the “Grand Prize Virtuoso” International Music Competition and have been chosen to be in the selected group of winners who are invited to perform at Gläserner Saal, Musikverein in Vienna. Besides playing music, she loves playing tennis, reading books and watching movies.
