Annika Hupirkar


Annika Huprikar, a junior in high school, is a pianist, composer, and chamber musician. She has been studying piano since the age of six. She is a classically trained pianist, currently under the tutelage of Susan Merdinger. Annika was one of four nationally selected finalists for The American Prize competition in Piano Concerto Performance in 2017. Annika made her debut in Carnegie Hall in December 2017 as a Second Place Winner in the American Protege International Romantic Music Competition. Recently, she won first prize at the Illinois Music Association's statewide competition in the Senior piano solo division. Annika has also participated in various Sonatina and Sonata Festivals around Illinois. She has received Gold and Silver medals at the Sonata Festivals at Harper College and Roosevelt University in Chicago, and won distinction in Piano and Voice in the ILMEA Competition. She has also won first prize in piano at the Granquist Music Competition. In March of 2017, at the age of 14, Annika made her concerto debut with the FullScore Chamber Orchestra in Chicago at the Merit School of Music to play Mozart's Concerto No. 12 in A Major. In October of 2017, she was invited by the Tutti Chamber Orchestra to perform in the orchestra's 19th Fine Arts Fall Festival. She will be performing in her own concert this December as part of the Young Steinway Artists Concert Series. Annika is part of the Midwest Young Artists Conservatory as a chamber musician in a quintet. Annika has composed her first album called A Medley of Melodies, which is dedicated to senior citizens with memory loss.
