Madeline Meier
Madeline Meier is a Lyric Coloratura Soprano and a current undergraduate student at Montclair State University, receiving a BM in Vocal Performance, while studying under Dr. Lori McCann. In addition to her performance major, she is also receiving a BA in German and a minor n French. She has had the pleasure of playing the character of Apprentice in composer Tim Stephen’s world-premiere of his opera, Ransom!!, and previously has played Second Spirit in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, and Marcy Park in the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. In addition to this, she has done ensemble work for Maria Stuarda and Fidelio at the Astoria Music Festival. Madeline has had the wonderful opportunity to participate as a young artist in both OperaWorks in Los Angeles and the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria, where she performed as a featured soloist in ¡Viva España! and the Konzert des Opernstudios. She was also a featured soloist in Montclair State University’s Baroque Ensemble this past year and also recently performed as Cunégonde from Candide in Montclair State University’s Opera Scenes. Madeline also was honored to be a finalist and prize winner at the Eastern Region NATS competition this past year. In addition to this, she is looking forward to her upcoming performance as Serpetta in scenes from La finta giardiniera at Middlebury College in Vermont’s German for Singers intensive language/singing program. As a recipient of the Montclair-Graz Sister-Cities Scholarship through Montclair State University as well, she is looking forward to study abroad at the Kunstuniversität Graz in Austria this upcoming academic year.
