Joseph Tao


Joseph is a 6th grader, and studies violin with Rebecca Henry at Peabody preparatory now. He has been first prize winner of various competitions, including the Asian American International Competition, MSMTA Solo Spring Festival, AFAF competition, YMIC competition; He also won two Grand Prizes from the Young Musicians Inspiring Change Competition 2016, and Concert Artists International Virtuoso Competition 2017, which led him to perform solo violin for 100 dignitaries in California, Carnegie Hall, and with The Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra of Greater Washington. In the summer of 2016, Joseph traveled to Russia to perform as a soloist with the Kostroma Symphony Orchestra on a concert tour. He was a star of the performance, receiving flowers, signing autographs and taking photos with his fans. There was even an incidence where several children were running after his van to get his autograph. For his outstanding performance, Joseph received the prestigious Russian Governor's Award.Since then, Joseph has been practicing more violin and has started to enjoy music. Last week, Joseph has just won first place from the Young Artist Competition, and he will perform with the Columbia Orchestra in April.
