Joaquin Moreno has studied violin for 6 years, currently takes lessons with JoAnna Cochenet, and is a former student of Jorge Orozco. His participation in orchestras extends to several of the Maryland Classic Youth Orchestras (MCYO): Young Artists (2016/17, 2017/18, Current), Chamber Strings (2014/15, 2015/16) and Preparatory Strings (2012/13, 2013/14). For the 2017-2018 season he has been selected to participate in the Montgomery County Junior Honors Orchestra and Maryland All-State Junior String Orchestra. Joaquin attends Robert Frost Middle School. Joaquin has also participated in some competitions and has attained Second Place in the Junior Division of Levine Music's 2014 Cogen Concerto, Honorable Mention in the Intermediate Junior Division of Levine Music's 2014 Marlin-Engel Solo Competition, and Honorable Mention in the Intermediate Instrumental Division of Levine Music's 2017 Marlin-Engel Solo Competition.
