Alea Vernon
Alea Vernon is a recent graduate of Cheshire High School and attends The Juilliard School Pre-college where she was a vocal performance major. Alea has also been an Ensign Darling Fellow at the Bushnell for several years. At The Juilliard School Alea studied with Lorraine Nubar and was coached by Jorge Parodi. She was additionally coached by Bénédicte Jourdois. Alea has won and placed in several competitions and received numerous awards. Some accomplishments include being the first place winner of the Hal Leonard Vocal Competition, the second place winner of the Rondo Vanguard Competition, and a two time George London Scholarship Recipient. She has spent two years at the Juilliard School Pre-college after attending the Manhattan School of Music Pre-college. Alea has sung in internationally renowned theatres such as Carnegie Hall, Seiji Ozawa Hall, The Shanghai Theatre, and The Bushnell. Alea spends her summers attending summer programs and festivals including the Casentino Voice Festival in Popi, Italy, New York Summer Music Festival, and The Boston University Tanglewood Institute. This summer she will attend Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria under the tutelage of Lorraine Nubar and Dalton Baldwin.
