Zachary Myones
Zachary Myones is a first-year Doctoral student in Clarinet Performance at Arizona State University. Originally from Sugar Land, Texas, Zach was a member of the Dulles High School Viking Band and the 2009 and 2010 Texas All-State Bands on the bass clarinet. He completed his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Clarinet Performance and Master’s Degree in Music Education with Teacher Licensure from Case Western Reserve University in 2014, studying clarinet with Daniel Gilbert, voice with Mark Wanich, orchestral saxophone with Greg Banaszak and harpsichord/organ with Peter Bennett. He has also studied under Chester Rowell (University of Houston, Houston Ballet) and Eric Jacobs (Seattle Symphony) on bass clarinet and clarinet. Zach has performed with the ASU Wind Orchestra and Symphony Orchestra, the Case Symphonic Winds on bass clarinet, the Case Jazz Band II on trumpet and trombone, the University Circle Wind Ensemble on clarinet and bass clarinet, and the University Circle Symphony Orchestra on clarinet. Zach teaches clarinet and bass clarinet privately, and he also collects and copies manuscripts of rare and little known (often unpublished) works for clarinet from library archives around the world for future editing and publishing in order to give these pieces the recognition they deserve.
