Sophia began her piano studies at the age of five with Anna Semyanovsky. She currently attends Northwestern University as a Piano Performance and Economics major, and studies with Sylvia Wang. Sophia has won numerous awards. She was selected as a piano soloist to perform with the El Camino Youth Symphony as well as the Saratoga Symphony Orchestra in 2014. She is a three-times alternate winner in the North California MTAC solo/concerto competition and two-times USOMC gold medalist in concerto and showcase solo categories. Sophia won first place in the 2013 Thera Rabinowitch Piano competition senior division, as well as the 2012 Marilyn Mindell junior piano competition. In addition to playing the piano, Sophia enjoys dancing.
