Rebecca Tutunick
Rebecca Tutunick is an undergraduate student at the University of Miami, Frost School of Music. She is double majoring in Classical Flute Performance and Music Therapy. She studies with Professor Trudy Kane, who was formerly the principal flute for 32 years in the Metropolitan Opera. Her past teachers include Melanie Lancon, of the Central City Opera, Ebonee Thomas, of the Knoxville Symphony, and Jeanne Tarrant, formerly of the Florida Philharmonic Orchestra.
Some of Rebecca’s accomplishments include being a BIG ARTS Classical Music Scholarship winner, the 2015 Sunrise Pops Concerto Competition winner, a National YoungArts Winner twice, a Consummate Flutist performer, and a New World Symphony Young Artist Concerto Competition finalist with Honorable Mention twice. At University of Miami, she participates in the Frost Symphony Orchestra, the Frost Wind Ensemble, the Frost Flute Ensemble, and various other performing groups. She has participated in Chautauqua Summer Festival Orchestra, Miami Music Festival Orchestra and Opera Institute, and Boston University Tanglewood Institute. She has earned the Silver Knight Award in music, the Arts for the Future Award, the Arts for Life Award, the Marines Semper Fidelis Award and more.
